HPA Philosophy
Your organization, through your members and elected officers, makes policy and sets direction and goals. HPA assists you in defining your goals and objectives, then executes the agreed-upon work plan. In other words, the province of your board is governance, that of HPA is management. We believe that staff provides continuity for an association, and in that capacity, is responsible for seeing that the activities of the organization are implemented. Since a volunteer’s time is scarce, staff work to ensure that things do not “fall between the cracks.” Our intent is to be helpful, answer questions and generate ideas, as well as supporting the board’s prerogative in making decisions and in guiding the association.

The strategy of Holland-Parlette Associates is to maintain a relatively small, well-trained staff that works well together. We limit our management practice to a select group of organizations which we believe have growth potential, have committed and dedicated volunteers who care about the organization, and to whom we, as individuals, can be intellectually committed and continuously challenged
